Who am I?

Hi. I’m J.R. I’m solution-focused, goal-oriented and make use of scientific tools, philosophical inquiry, and an openness to a spiritual vocabulary. My style is direct, masculine, and ultimately challenging. I work with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship, communication and stage of life issues and I focus on growth, empowerment, and change, which I believe are available to everyone. A driving motive for my work is an interest in a psychedelic approach, in which I’m trained (via IPI and GLT), though for which I cannot and do not provide substances. I can help with integration, which is the key anyhow.

My Vision...

I imagine a space where individuals can come to look deeply within, identify their current limitations and personal hinderances, push through and past them, and grow endlessly into better versions of themselves, making the world a better place, one person at a time.

My Values...

I value learning, intuition and freedom.  As was inscribed at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, I believe that to “Know thyself” is of the utmost importance.  Knowledge of self is a continual learning exercise and doing so requires a trust in one’s intuition.  The freedom to explore one’s own mind is central to these values.

I believe that we live in a confused culture and that the net result of the confusion is a mistaken idea that we are somehow broken or ill. Rather, I appreciate that all of us have experiences with sadness, fear, bad-habits and overwhelm from time to time, that none of these are illnesses, and that we all have the innate ability to overcome them. I believe that psychedelics are valuable tools of exploration in these areas and my purpose is to assist individuals in their exploration via counseling and coaching.  In the words of Bob Jesse, my purpose is “the betterment of the well.”
